Jaguh Kampung of the Month – Jeer-On, A Miseducated Malaysian Gone Worse

Posted by kampunghouse on September 14, 2009

The internet, in particular the blogosphere, has been a timely instrument of liberation for countless Malaysians, who for decades were stifled from expressing their views by the selective and sychophantic local media. Over the years we have witnessed the proliferation of blogs such as my own, commenting on Malaysian society in our collective, though sometimes conflicting, effort to change the direction of the country as we see fit.

It is a dilemma of democracy, especially in the internet age, that respect for individual expression means that pretty much everyone, regardless of the validity of their argument, receives an equal platform to propagate their views. As we currently see in America, the far-right movement gives itself free rein to disseminate lies about healthcare reform and mock the president in a manner that is puerile at best and just dirty at worst. There is a major distinction between difference of opinion and downright slander, and in this instance the conservative movement, bereft of valid arguments, prefer to indulge in the latter.

The same is true with the socio-political scene in Malaysia, although in place of left-right bickering is a political landscape that is largely marked by racially-based ideology. While there are genuine efforts by Malaysians to create an honest, open discussion about racial divides and economy iniquity, there are also those who choose to use their blogs as a public avenue to vent their frustration and air their deeply-held prejudices.

Recently, through pure misfortune, I came across a blog by Jeer-On, who debuts into the Malaysian blog scene intent on “pouring out his disgust to the world around. What I have in mind can never be contained anymore. I am burning with flame and I know sooner or later the truth will reveal itself…” This is obviously a man or boy who is consumed with anger and bitterness and, like many angry Malaysians he chooses to channel his frustration towards, oh who else, those Malays.

In his new post entitled “The Malays or the Malas” (yes, how clever…) he starts off with that predictable diatribe about the lazy Malays. It is the (sic) fact that how (sic) the Malays in this country are no longer the Malays whom (sic) they used to be. The Malays are plain lazy and thus they deserved to labeled as one asserts Jeer-On. Truth be told I have no objections to such a statement, generalised and grammatically-incorrect as it may be. I do however, take umbrage when this guy produces grand rhetoric without being able to back them up with facts.

Look around you, how many Malay graduates are really holding high positions in most corporate companies in this country based on their own effort and skills? he asks. He says “most corporate companies” because he doesn’t really know how many; in fact probably not that many if we are to go with his own assertion that The Malays are working for the so called “immigrants”, the Malays live in houses and land belong (sic) to the so called “immigrants” and the food, the clothes and even almost every thing the Malays have to buy or get the supplies from (sic) the so called “immigrants”. But see, it doesn’t matter if what he says is the truth or not, because it conveniently feeds into his stereotype about The Malays and that’s good enough for him.

Not content with pouring his anger at Malays, he chooses another easy target, oh who else, Womankind. He may be a blog debutant, but he’s wise enough to know that a grand introduction breaks or makes a post, so he starts off with an intro of biblical proportions thus, It’s all started since Adam and Eve. Men are seen and regarded to be superior to women since the dawn of civilization. Men are the breadwinners for most of the families in the world. Women on the other hand, are regarded to be the caretakers of the household chores. Never mind that many of us, having been enlightened by years of proper upbringing and education don’t actually share his view; this is how he sees the world and that is how the world is thus.

Every day, women all around the world are trying their very best to be equal and to topple men’s positions in the society. Perhaps, the hunger of power and authority in them has grown slightly bigger than ever. It makes them sick and if they sit and be quiet about it they might just blow up like a bursting balloon. Yes, that’s what women are – devious, power-hungry, conniving monsters out to put man in his proper place. Such cave-dweller views would be laughable if they were fictitious, but unfortunately this guy is for real.

It is tempting to dismiss such imbecilic views, on both a community and a whole gender, as just-another-frustrated-Chinese or guys-being-guys. But as we have seen in the United States, silence gives consent and when we allow a bunch of idiots to use the same platform to voice their prejudices, we move a step closer to tolerating stupidity. And that’s just plain stupid.

Malays have done wonders in terms of denying truth, while doing so, through policies of government raked in ill wealth for years. Malays are rich, I mean really rich.

Malays had certain qualities that other races in this country do not, but I must emphasise “had”. Qualities such as “speaking less”, contended, know how to read and understand the holy Quran (I know that nowadays Muslim kids spent 10 years of religious classes in school and end up not knowing).

But all done and said, the day malays deny their past, is the beginning of their end. Malays were Hindus once, as was the whole South East Asia, later some South East Asia went for Buddhism while the others went for Islam.

Who taught South East Asia races to plant paddy in a systematic manner? Who taught South East Asia races language skills, reading and writing?

The very essence of everything that South East Asia races are based on till today was taught by Tamils. Don’t you guys notice that South East Asia races have similar writing codes, that are because it is based on Tamil. It even sounds like Tamil.

For peninsula: Tamils called the local inhabitants as “malai allu”, basically means “people who dwell in the hills”, this would mean Orang Asli, for they dwell in the hills, what is known as malays today was non-existent.

As malays are well known to do, they incorporated this term “malai” whence they started to land in the peninsula from Nusantara, and claimed the term “malai” as their own. This race has this peculiar trait of claiming that which is not theirs.

Deny this, and you deny your past, anyone who denies his past, denies his future. Malays……….be my guest.

Guess who is the master race? The master race doesn’t doing some weird policy (NEP), or go around brandishing some knife, which if you really put some thinking into it, put the race on a sure path to beggary.

The reason why I commented as above is because I want malays to know that they are not tuan punya tanah.

For myself, as a Tamil, I will state what my forbearers have done centuries before, the truth is, no one owns this land, this land is owned only by – the one and only one – God.

This soil needs administration, not ownership. Accept that.

Then let me re-quote Lee Kuan Yew:

Singaporean politician Lee Kuan Yew of the PAP, who publicly questioned the need for Article 153 in parliament, and called for a “Malaysian Malaysia”.

In a speech, Lee Kuan Yew bemoaned what would later be described as the Malaysia social contract:

“According to history, malays began to migrate to Malaysia in noticeable numbers only about 700 years ago. Of the 39% malays in Malaysia today, about one-third are comparatively new immigrants like the secretary-general of Umno, Dato Syed Jaafar, who came to Malaya from Indonesia just before the war at the age of more than thirty. Therefore it is wrong and illogical for a particular racial group to think that they are more justified to be called Malaysians and that the others can become Malaysians only through their favour.”

Eventually, and Singapore became an independent nation in 1965, with Lee Kuan Yew as its first prime minister.

Grabbing Perak by corruption and deceit and holding on to the state by using the police and controversial decisions from Umno courts – show the thuggish behaviour of Umno. Dragging the legal speaker out of his chair was the despicable act of a morally bankrupt government. BN is morally unfit to govern Malaysia.

I am horrified and deeply saddened by Dr Pornthip revelation.

Najib and MACC officers are animals of the lowest form. How can they still pray 5 times a day?

They still can fast during Ramadan and talked about justice shall prevail when Teoh family went to Putrajaya.

How will these animals die? I hope these low lives animals be wiped out from the face of the earth in the midair, in the sea, in the road asap!!!

This race stereotyping is actually the work of the present day government, headed by the Umno racist using race and religion as a tool to stay in power.

The native of this land a.k.a. son of the soil are the native (Dusun, Iban, Kadazan, etc) of Borneo and the Orang Asli (Dayak, Jakun, Sakai, etc) in Peninsula. Not you malay arrogant pieces of shit!

Before the arrival of Islam into Malaysia, the different races live in harmony without questioning race or religion. They may be cultural different but they accepted each other.

After independence, race was used by the Umno racist, and then formulated the NEP, which divided everyone. The Umno fascist use Islam in schools, universities and workplaces to segregate, and in the name of fighting PAS.

The modus operandi of Umno has always be, divide and rule, and the devil is in the detail and implementation of the religious department.

Umno is king in creating diversion, when they are cornered, use race and religion. Race and religion is the most explosive issue and they have used it successfully since independence.

All this is done to perpetuate their hold on political power. It is for Umno benefits to play the race card, because this is the only way to ensure their hold on to political power. And 50 long years have proven them right. The race card works well and works every time!

They have succeeded in keeping the races apart socially, and fanned animosity amongst the races with their discriminatory and racist politics.

All give politically reasoning – well here goes a correct one – malay is lazy because of Islam.

How can one pray 5 times and yet be expected to be productive? Wait for the foreigners to come and set up their factory and having to cater for Islam needs!

If malays embrace other religion then there is hope for Malaysia otherwise your hope is in the existence of Umno terrorist liars – don’t count on them being there forever – we are factoring in Umno racist absence in our business plan!

The problem with malays is that they forget too easily. It was the Chinese, Indians and Malays who fought for the independence.

The NEP was design to help the malays catch up with the Chinese and the Indians. Now looks like after 40 years, malays are still behind and very proud of it.

Still want to receive handouts from the government! Still afraid to fight it out on fair ground with the Chinese, Indians and other races! Fearful is the malay race!

Without the government subsidies and supports – I don’t know how many malay businesses will still stand? So when can we see some towering malays and who dare to refuse government help and still succeed?

Grabbing other people success and call it your own success is not success but a disgrace!

Their laziness caused the nation’s economy to slump and resources are wasted. They take 5 days to complete a day work. Malays always think that they are helping the other races when they are lazy. For God sake, please wake up! You are doing it for your own, not for anybody!

Majority of the nation need to be educated again. On the meaning of Malaysia.
